Linux Sustaining Support - Programmer

Duties

We are looking for a customer support focused programmer, exceptionally strong with scripting with 5 years minimum experience that can bring a diverse networking background to the position; particularly experience with Linux Administration. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, highly motivated, and possess top-notch troubleshooting skills. Excellent communication skills both oral and written are necessary. Customer interaction will be required; therefore candidate must have excellent rapport and support background. Certifications are a plus, but not required.

Required Skills

Qualified candidates will have strong working knowledge in: - Perl (debugger, object oriented code, POE framework) - Must have support background with willingness for occasional travel (10% - 15%) - Unix Shell programming - C++ Other requirements include experience with: - Linux system administration - Networking with diverse background - SSH (tunneling and key generation) Additional knowledge of the following highly desirable: - CVS - VMWare - Doxygen - Creation of RPMs - Unit Testing

Design Engineer

Duties

• Design of mechanical elements necessary to provide for new product development. Able to work closely with project manager and capable of working and owning designated projects overseeing coordination of mechanical design needs that include resourcing and scheduling from product conception to production release. • Ability to work concurrently with engineer team, manufacturing and purchasing so that best fit and best cost during design reviews can be established. Maintain engineering continuity start up and initial production runs for new or improved products. Oversee or assist in the creation of drawings and / or other design documents. • Handling of cost improvements and manufacturability issues are expected to be worked with on the existing TDS product line. Product performance improvements include R&D of new and / or improved materials. • Manufacturing support on Technnical issues dealing with design and design improvements. Meetings, design reviews and visits to customer site also expected. • Engineering process which calls on individual to conform to and report for all engineering programs using the latest engineering processes including design reviews, program updates and tollgates.

Job Title

Test Engineer

Duties

A Test Engineer shall be primarily responsible for Electro-Pneumatic Brake, Wire/Radio Distributive Power and AAR Conventional Brake system/component testing. This includes having knowledge of hardware, electronics and software for car and locomotive equipment. The Test Engineer is responsible for preparing test plans, test setup, conducting tests and preparing detailed test reports. The position requires a hands-on individual with mechanical/electrical skills and knowledge of instrumentation, electrical/electronic controls, pneumatics and test methodology. The individual must have good verbal and written communication skills and willing to work in a multi-disciplined team environment. Travel for field tests and retrofit of up to 3 weeks and occasional in-house overtime will be required.

Required Skills

• Electromechanical Engineering Technology / Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technology • Familiarity with Lab view and other Data Acquisition systems • Familiarity with instrumentation & testing methods. • Willingness to travel

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with the six sigma processes • Experience with highly accelerated life testing, reliability development growth and qualification testing. • 2-3 years experience in instrumentation and testing. • Familiarity with an Unholtz-Dickie vibration system.

This position is responsible for the engineering development and project management of Car and Locomotive brake systems / subsystems and highly integrated systems involving EP-60, CCB and LEADER products. Duties include: Liaison between NYAB (Mkt., Manf. & Eng.) and our customers and end users: System technical proposals and presentations; Customer/End User specification compliance; Training; and Field application troubleshooting.
