New York Air Brake joined the Knorr-Bremse family of companies in 1991, becoming an integral part of an international group of the most important designers and manufacturers of braking systems for railway rolling stock and commercial vehicles in the world.

Today, Knorr-Bremse is a global leader in the field of brake systems for rail and commercial vehicles and maintains 45 production and sales facilities in 26 countries. The group invests over DM 200 million a year—more than 7 percent of sales—in the development of innovative brake technology.

The Knorr-Bremse Railway Brake Division now stands for a wealth of experience that predates both of the established world standards, UIC and AAR, and stretches all the way to the latest state-of-the-art braking technology.

R&D expenditure accounts for more than 10% of turnover and provides a solid base for the company's superiority in technology and quality in order to meet the future demands of customers' needs.
