New York Air Brake Delivers 10,000th Computer Controlled Brake
Watertown, NY, USA – January 29, 2008 –New York Air Brake has marked the manufacture and delivery of the 10,000th Computer Controlled Brake (CCB), a microcomputer-based system designed to provide full automatic and independent brake control for mainline locomotives. CCB II’s network-based design permits faster response, and its self-diagnostic routines and modular LRU (line-replaceable unit) approach reduce maintenance costs.
“We designed the CCB to provide best-in-class reliability and to meet the railroad industry's demand for increased locomotive availability,” Marshall Beck, New York Air Brake Senior Vice President of Marketing and Sales, said. “We are extraordinarily pleased to see that our customers worldwide have validated our efforts; this is a tribute to the women and men who designed and built this remarkable system.”
New York Air Brake Corporation, a member of the Knorr-Bremse Group, supplies air brake control systems and components, electronically controlled braking systems, foundation brakes, training simulators and driver information systems to the freight railroad industry.
