Anchor Brake Shoe offers AAR M-926 certified ValueSaver and ChangeSaver high friction composition freight car shoes, as well as AAR M-997 certified WheelSaver, a semi-metallic tread conditioning shoe proven to perform well in today’s heavy haul environment.

A Note about Tread Conditioning

Only Anchor’s AAR M-997 certified WheelSaver brake shoe offers a stable coefficient of friction throughout the full range of braking applications. Our semi-metallic friction material dramatically decreases wheel set removals attributable to high kip readings. Check out the WheelSaver brake shoe, the only product that can reduce elevated kip levels – available in 1.5” and 2” thicknesses.
